I'd say the majority of the people in that first video are on something. I used to see people like that ALL the time when I'd go to trance clubs. People you'd see dancing when you walked in, who would still be dancing when you left 5-6 hours later.

Certainly. If you watch closely, you can see drug deals happen quite frequently in those Boiler Room-videos. The cliche about electronic dance music and drugs may be tired but it's mostly true nontheless. From my experience, DnB being a slight exception, at least in terms of ecstasy & co.

I find it annoying. I love the music personally, where as the majority just like it as it enhances the drug experience.

When I used to go to the clubs I'd dance a bit, but mostly just liked sitting down and enjoying the music.

Well, I guess the druggies find the sober party guests annoying too sometimes...

Man the music in the second boiler room video (the Ava one) is great.

old school sounding techno tracks

You're making me feel old now. This style wasn't even invented until several years after techno was concieved. How old am I now? I forget, the numbers are too high.

This track from Hotline Miami 2 starts good, but at 1:30 it gets hYPnoTiC.  :stroke:

Oh wow, that's a group I actually heard before! Got "Opa" & "Der Alte" by Kölsch somewhere.
This a Hungarian classic from 2000, it's very calm and compares quite well to the original surprisingly.

I'm currently trying to come up with some hits for my wedding, and I think the best option will be electronic hits. Of course, I like stuff like Aphex and so on, but something tells me my guests will be for pop sound  Digging this list now https://www.poptop.uk.com/blog/top-tips-when-choosing-the-wedding-exit-songs/ but maybe I'll add some song from this topic as well.

If I may make a suggestion for such a joyous occasion there is really only one option.

Billy Idol - White Wedding

Seems to me like Mr James has found renewed interest in technoid rave music again in recent years.

His sets are (seemingly) crude and confusing yet full of unpredictably brilliant moments. A bit like the sonic equivalent of a David Lynch movie. This one is just wonderful and you owe it to yourself to watch the entire thing, if you have any interest in this kind of electronic music!

William Orbit - Time to get Wise.

Pump up the volume on that track. Gets really good towards the end.

Fila Brazillia - Leggy

That being said, the first track is awesome, because of this wheeoooohooohoho sound.
The second one has a great video, but the music is unremarkable. If you took away the dedededededede it's just a bunch of random harmonies.

I should become a music journalist.
