i just now noticed that people are posting my subpar speedruns on here! 

just slowly... slowly... not being bad at this game... slowly not fucking up tricks and not fucking up movement

(does anyone have any idea why i warped under the ladder at 11:21 in the video?  i have legit no idea barring a random bit flip)

i mean like what happens directly before i mantle on that piece of geometry after the rumbler.  as soon as i try to mantle onto it, i'm seemingly warped to about the light post.  i have no idea why it happened and none of my rickenbacker practice runs had that happen.

(although as you may suggest, i perhaps should have more rickenbacker practice on that movement segment X)))))

Possibly you are jumping away from the railings instead of climbing up? Perhaps due to releasing the jump button too early. It does look a bit too fast for that, but that may be video frame rate issues.

There is a known severe glitch with ladders that you probably heard of:

Normally, death in the game without QBR machine activated is followed by two things: your controls are disabled and a few seconds later you are thrown out to the main menu. However, if you die while flying in mid air and then land on a ladder, you automatically grab it which results in the controls being restored, and moving to a new area allows you to stay in the game forever.

Most probably^^, because he has been using this glitch in all of his speedruns, as are all other speedrunners. Completion times around the 10 minutes mark would not be possible without it.

yeah i clearly used the invincibility glitch.

i was strafing towards the rail while holding space (i was holding space since i headbutted the rumbler thanks to this stupid thing that happens if you PRESS space against the rail; you just jump uselessly at the rail and it's embarassing)

i just installed dromed and i will get to the bottom of this and see if this is a bitflip or some glitch that we can replicate.  i've tried to bust through the nacelle door in engineering (without relocation which is impossible that early in the game) to skip the entire 45M/deX command control sequence for a good while, and if it can be replicated, i'll try to replicate it in the rickenbacker, and see if it can be applied in engineering.  until then... it's a mystery
