Weird question of the day is
Will System Shock 3 show up on the Switch?

Pffft, if the game doesn't come out on the Vectrex, I'm so not gonna buy it!

The Switch is a current-gen game console. Not sure what the Vectrex has to do with that.

A)  What the Hell is Red-bull doing writing about games?  Is it because a decent chunk of their audience are 12-year-old unsupervised kids?

B)  Do enough people actually have a Switch to make it a viable platform?  Hold on...

Oh.  My local retail doesn't even have it in stock, but I'll chalk that up to Nintendo not being able to supply demand.

C)  Why am I getting vibes that Spector wants to retcon System Shock?  I understand if he feels like his original creation was sort of hijacked, but still.

I agree with chicken. My first thought on seeing the thread title was "What in the hell is redbull doing interview Warren Spector, when their all about energy drinks?"

I would not associate any of Warren's games with the need for energy drinks.

Well we're not 12 years old either. (But some of us are obviously unsupervised.)

I'm glad that he wants to mix the two games rather then basing the sequel on the second one. Most people prefer SS2 over SS1 because depth and RPG mechanics and whatever, but I always liked the first game more. Considering that it was SS2 that was the more successful game, I could easily see someone else deciding to just copy that game while making the squel.

You know what I mean.  Those kids that drink monster and redbull all day and when they get home from school they spend the rest of the day playing COD on an Xbox whilst screaming various swearwords into their headsets.

Those kids.

That aside, I don't think they play Shock, so...  I guess some executive in Redbull just really likes video games.

About the only thing I've ever seen red bull in videogame wise, was a small plane game they had within the "Playstation Home" 3D world environment.

Was ok.

It was basically this:

Except in 3D, and more having to go through hoops. And the Atari 2600 game was better.

If you want to see it in action (jump to 1 minute 41):

Red Bull's whole success as a company is build on (seemingly effective) marketing to a "hipster"-crowd. They sponsored and associated themselves with loads of trendy "in"-stuff over the years and some of their endeavours were legitimately good  like the Redbull Music Academy. In light of that, I'm not that surprised they are also interviewing game devs and other non-energy drink related stuff.

Why couldn't it be on Switch?

I'd pick Mother over Red Bull any day.
