Here's a simple mod for SS2 that displays a notification message at the top of the screen when quest notes are added and completed. I'm posting it in Engineering first to get some user testing in before I promote it to the mods forum. Compatible with vanilla SS2, SCP, SecMod, and any other FM or gamesys mod that leaves the fourth slot script open on the player archetype. Uses Squirrel scripting, so requires SS2 v2.46 or higher.

SHOULD:
- Display a notification for every quest note that's added.
- Display a notification for every quest note that's completed.

SHOULD NOT:
- Display the same note as being added more than once.
- Display the same note as being completed more than once.

EDIT: Downloads removed. See release topic for final version of mod.

seems to be working ok for RttUNN as well (first two and half levels, if nothing else). also;
Uses Squirrel scripting, so requires SS2 v2.46 or higher.
maybe
Uses Squirrel scripting, so requires SS2 v2.46 or higher (SS2tool).
so people won't get the idea they have to slap the standalone/raw 2.46 update over an already patched game. yes, people sometimes have bad ideas, and by sometimes, I mean all the time.

BTW, this version abandons the original approach of using a hard-coded note list. Now it scans for every possible note in the "Note_1_1" to "Note_9_99" range. So it should catch everything unless some FM author uses a non-standard naming convention.

Okay, here's a more minimal notifier that just displays a generic notification, and only when a note is first added, not completed. What do you think?
