no problem.

anyway, manual installs may cause various issues not present in a standard tool install, and hence, are not supported for that very reason. "make an install using the tool, and see whether the problem persists" is usually the first thing we suggest, if manual install is suspected.

Or just run SS2Tool in a copy of your current game to see what you get. It's not like you can only have one SS2 folder.

Found something cute:
Querying the Cyber modules (even in basic training) there is quotation from "She" magazine from July 2111.
In the basic training booth you find an audiolog, I would guess it was just made, from 2.6.11. So either the log has been laying around for at least a month, or your Query-tool can look up and quote from articles in the future. I doubt that. Third option: It's an inconsistency and the date of the magazine could be changed to May or June.

I've noticed a lot of inconsistencies with the dates in general. And I'm pretty sure the "2.6.11" was intended to be in February and not June because shortly thereafter you pick a military posting that lasts a full year, always ending the coming February.

Also, if you look at each military posting's flavor text (in chargen.str), the time formatting is different from one another:

OSA = [d mmmm yyyy]
Navy = [mmmm d, yyyy]
Marines = [mmm. d, yyyy]

Oh god, that sounds horrible, and that February thing is quite possible.
In the Intro video the date says 01-09-14, and then it says "5 months later". In game it is then June (JUN) in the audiologs with dd.mmm.yy format. How can you be so inconsistent :D

Yes, "5 months later" from January, when the game takes place in July  – also ignoring that it said UNN Von Braun.  :omg:

That said, I'm currently compiling a list of suggestions and fixes for SCP (assuming release is not imminent). If time permits, I'll put them out in video form as well.

EDIT: fixed date

Well the disasters only take place a few weeks after launch. So July would be correct I think.

The Trainer's log has a number of discrepancies on its own:

- it should be formatted "06.FEB.11" (in [dd.mmm.yy], like every other log and email in the game);

- it has "audio log" spelled without a hyphen in one instance, then next sentence, "audio-log";

- the portrait is the same one as Bayliss (maybe he is the trainer?);

- the deck icon, next to the portrait, shows the "UNN Rickenbacker" logo and text (unsure whether or not that vessel was even constructed, much less commissioned at the time)

- it is categorized under "Deck 1 Engineering" in the PDA (probably a "hard limit" that can't be fixed easily)

Any idea why there is no wall on the map that I'm looking at? It's the same if I disable the deutsch patches and scp.

What's more peculiar is when you exit that map cell: the missing wall on the map is suddenly drawn, then disappears again upon re-entry!

Looks like someone at Irrational forgot to draw that line in that particular portion of the map (P001R004.PCX).

For anyone interested, attached here is a fix.

P.S. to see results, you might have to restart the map (i.e., load a game without ever having visited rec3). disregard that – restart not required

EDIT: correction

But it will be in the next beta, right?

Found another map anomaly:

In the "Spatially Aware" map for Ops 4 (PAGE001A.PCX), the wrecked hallway in the Command Center leads to a non-existent door to the room with the Linear Simulation Computer. However, the automap sections (P001R000.PCX and P001X000.PCX) do not exhibit this.

Fix is in attachment.

This site really is brilliant! Even though it's only really about two games, and those being very old and not too popular or active games at that, the people on here are so dedicated and talented that it's brilliant being on here.

I really do wish all great games had a site like this.

Attached here is a PDF of issues and suggestions I've put together for the next SCP.

If anything seems unclear or in need of further proof, let me know and I'll upload it in video.

CORRECTIONS:

- there is another headless corpse found in the hallway leading to Dr. Watts's office in medsci1.mis; object number is 492.

- the object number for the slanted window above the lift in Cryo Recovery in medsci1.mis is 207, not 1160.

- the object number for the broken window in the Biopsy Lab in medsci2.mis is 1051, not 105.

- the object number for the second replicator in many.mis is 68, not 56.

- compass actually does work for rick2.mis, rick3.mis, and shodan.mis (just didn't work in ShockEd game mode, though).

(God I hate correcting my mistakes AFTER submission.)

I posted the attachment here because I didn't know whether to put it in the Issues or Suggestions thread, since it contained both.

I'm new. I followed the newbie build. SCP Beta is lowest priority on the mod load order. When I start a new game, the elevator has a blue text window with white text saying "SCP ERROR.  SQUIRREL.OSM NOT LOADED"

The other mods appear to be working at this time.

Re: SS2 Community Patch (SCP) Beta 5

check your \SS2\OSM\ folder for squirrel.osm file, if not present, try to repatch with the tool again (maybe post your ss2tool log file, if something went wrong during the process, it should be logged there).

this is the second time I'm seeing this in just a couple of days - we might have some sort of antivirus update going nuts on the the squirrel (running any AV?). anyway, good to see the warning message working as it should.

I keep seeing posts about modders using scp beta 5. Can you give any information on when scp beta 5 will be released?

What's with this new texture inside the Replicator dispenser chute? I'm talking about SCP_beta4\obj\txt16\repinsid.gif, seemingly due to this report in the readme:

Both replicators have a very "noisy" texture behind the glass, and inconsistent texturing in the dispenser chute. //fixed

 It doesn't look like the same grate material at all -- it's like the inside is covered in lego bricks. Could it be changed it to something more faithful? A grate with lower contrast?
