Things have come a long way since '99. It's incredible really, for a game that could run on a 200 MHz machine with 32 megs of RAM.
And despite the leaps in processing power and memory, very few modern titles have surpassed its depth of game mechanics.Rather, we've regressed to: run down corridor, shoot everything that moves, YOU'RE WINNER.
People do that in System Shock 2 as well.
Bollocks to that.I can't (I've tried) go back to any 3D game much older than SS2. That was a push. First game I ever played properly and loved was Deus Ex.
