This version of SCP is obsolete, retained only for historical reference.
Click here for the current version.

so, now we finally play the game?

also, adding a list of suggested mods, with (hopefully) properly set up priorities.

It's the only winning move.

Paging System Shocked...

Loving the changes so far. Unfortunately my game keeps crashing and I'm pretty sure it has something to do with my installation. Oh well.

Congratulations on getting this out - I know it's been a huge amount of work.

"The guiding principle for SCP has been that SS2’s gameplay is fine as-is...,"

Fine, yes. But I think Secmod is a great example of how it can be better in most ways, especially in terms of balance.
I love SS2 for it's deep gameplay just as much as it's strong sim design.
Anyway, congrats on your first release. Definitely have to try this sometime soon. Hurrah for more "advancement" to the classic Im Sim collection.

I can't believe System Shocked is not the first to comment on this.

I hope he didn't suffer a fatal attack...

Thanks ZylonBane and voodoo47 for your hard work.

Thanks guys.

(Some quick instructions how to keep S(c)hock 2 German would be much appreciated.*)    [*Systemshock.org obviously spoiled me and I just assumed the German version would be supported form the start - I'll take the opportunity to play it in English for a change.]

@Voodoo, as someone who's never done much with SS2 mods, if you provided links to them in your mod screenshot post, it would be helpful. =)

Also, a huge congrats to everyone involved with the project. ^_^

Here's a random screenshot that shows off the awesome lighting changes.

Short list of awesome things this mod has:

* Significantly improved lighting.

* Changes to particles and explosions.

* Aesthetic changes to the environment, like decals.

Newest attachment shows something that I think looks weird. The door doesn't look right.

What's the purpose of the security access card and the ring buoy?

This mod is like your favourite meal, but better: You have eaten this dish so many times, but this time the first bite tastes astonishingly great and its getting more awesome with every following chunk. (And I'm only on engineering yet. It's the appetize before the main course)
It's amazing to see all the small details you have added to the game; from slight touches to mayor improvements, you can feel the care and (mad) love that went into making this.
I'm now gonna go and put my hat on, just so that I can lift it for ZylonBane and voodoo47 (Now get some sleep, man!). Thanks to you and of course to everyone else involved!

so, anyone find the easter egg on earth yet?

Haven't found an easter egg, but I liked the shuttle that flies past the earth.

Nice to know that mantling onto the tram tracks means insta-death.

Ah I think I found it...

[Moderator edit: let's not ruin the surprise for everyone, shall we?]

I think nemyax is from russia?

Also congratulations on releasing it!
Haven't looked at it yet.

About the list of suggested mods. Wouldn't it be better to leave the fixed objects out since they are already in the SCP?
If I remember correctly there were some cases where I've made models to be used for SCP and some for the standalone. Something about "not dml fixable".

it' very possible that the model pack will get an update sooner than SCP/SHTUP, in that case, one would want to use both (and with correct priorities), that's why it's included on the picture.

//yup, that's the easter egg. hail to the king, baby!

SUPER CONGRATS to all the SCP Devs. This is a momentous day for you, the SS2 community and all global lovers of SS2.

In anticipation of the SCP's release, I kinda lost my head over the past couple of months, and for that I sincerely apologize to the SCP Devs and the SS2 community at large, for my negative behavior. I am deeply sorry for any disparaging remarks or unintentional lack of respect that I've shown.

I'll now turn my creative attentions towards improving upon SCP Beta 1, no easy task after reading the SCP's full changlog (WHEW!). Nevertheless, I'm confident that there are still bugs and issues yet to be quashed. I'll be shortly submitting my exhaustive feedback reports for consideration by the SCP Devs, that I'll discover using my Nano-X Augmented Eyes.

Are the Google Drive download links not working? I ask because several dozen people have downloaded the archives from here, despite the very clear suggestion not to.

gdrive apparently sucks for some people (probably throttling/proxy restrictions), as reported a couple of times in the TTLG TFix topic.

btw, both steam and GOG are having a SS2 Halloween sale, so the timing was perfect.

●   Local pyro field no longer grants immunity to protocol droid explosions. Apologies to all five of you who even knew about this exploit.

I wonder what other exploits have been fixed that render speed run world records obsolete. I searched for "speed" (walking at an angle doesn't seem to provide an increase anymore) and "death" (in reference to the ladder death glitch that plagues the latest speed run.) Has anyone tried to do the speed booster Shodan skip?

Anyway, it's like having two highly anticipated movies released in tandem, SECMOD3 and the SCP Beta. Can't wait until a SCP compatible SECMOD is released.

Re: Re: SS2 Community Patch (SCP) Beta 1

that means either redoing Secmod with SCP assets or redoing SCP with Secmod assets. considering the amount of work, not likely to happen.

Maybe make the hint more prominent.
I downloaded from here out of habit.

And what about those models which differ from the fix pack and scp?

Congratulations on seeing this multi-year project through guys, it's not an easy thing,  will have a look as soon as I can.
It's true that a SCP Secmod is unlikely to happen, but that's okay, there's a some cross-polination of features between the  two already.
